Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
My mission is to support women* to create richer, fuller, more satisfying and more joy-filled lives.
I’m here to help all of us dismantle the bullshit rules of colonialism and the patriarchy that live in our heads, no matter where those rules land for us.
I welcome and embrace all, regardless of race, ethnicity, sexuality, class, wealth, range of abilities, veteran status, former incarceration status, trauma experiences, body shape and size, spiritual beliefs or age**.
* for the sake of clarity, trans women are women; and if you were raised little girl but do not identify as woman, you are also very welcome.
** I embrace and welcome people of all ages, and please know I’m only able to work with anyone under 18 if I have written permission from a legal parent or guardian
Your lived experience may be wildly different from my own, but your truth matters.
I will meet you where you are, and I will bring compassion to the work of setting you free, and reclaiming your power as a human.
I will always believe and respect what you tell me, whether it is your preferred pronoun, or your trauma, or how systems of oppression have expressed themselves in your world, or any other thing.
We were all raised in systems of oppression
Every one of those systems is based on the concept that one group of people has the right to determine the value and worth of the people in another group.
That concept is just plain wrong.
In my work, I help people liberate themselves from the system of oppression we call ‘the patriarchy’.
And I recognise that your personal experience of the patriarchy will be different from mine, based on other intersecting systems such as racism, xenophobia, homophobia, transphobia, ageism, ableism, toxic unfettered capitalism, and more.
I seek to ensure that my work with you is sensitive to those various aspects of your own unique journey. I may not always get it 100% right, but I will do my utmost to correct any mistakes I make.
I will ask questions from a place of compassion and gentle enquiry, so I can keep you safe. And I will believe your answers.
Acknowledgement of Land
An Acknowledgement of Land is a sign of respect, made by many people and organisations who live and work in Australia. You’ll see an abbreviated version throughout my website. Here I make my acknowledgement in full.
I acknowledge the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin nation as the Traditional Owners of the place where I live and work; and I pay respects to their Elders, past, present and emerging, and to all Indigenous members of my local community. I also pay respects to the multiple polities which make up all the First Nations peoples of the lands we now call Australia.
A portion of the income from this business goes to Pay The Rent each month, because these lands were never ceded; they always were, always will be Aboriginal lands.
The language I use in this Acknowledgement is the language recommended by Elders and members of the Indigenous community where I live; I take my lead from them, with thanks and deep respect.
